The purpose of governance is to provide an organisation with direction and control so that it can achieve its strategic objectives. Governance has many component parts – ‘building blocks’ – which all have to be in place, and functioning properly, for the process to work.
The workshop will identify what good governance looks like, what gets in the way of good governance, and how governance dysfunction can be addressed and tackled. In particular, the training will focus on the key issues which are emerging in the governance world.
Throughout, the training will emphasise the fact that good governance will differ from Region to Region in the world. Different jurisdictions have varying approaches in terms of legislation, regulation and guidance, and the forms of governance created in Regions such as the Gulf, the Middle East, Africa and Asia should reflect local circumstances, rather than imitate the systems coming from the West.
The Masterclass will consider the hot topics of the day including cyber security, climate change, ESG, recovery from the pandemic, business continuity and resilience, developments in the audit market and innovation.
